APPLICATIONS

2-Butene-1,4-diol is used as an intermediate for the synthesis of
pharmaceuticals such as vitamin B6 (pyridoxine), endosulfan and GABA
(gamma-aminobutyric acid) ergic antiepileptic drug. It is used in making
biocides [Bis(bromoacetoxy)-butene] and 2,3-dihydrofuran. |
