APPLICATIONS

Diminazene (a diamine compound) is a veterinary drug acting as a antibacterial and antiprotozoal agent. It is specially used in the the treatment of trypanosomiasis and babesiosis. It intercalates DNA and RNA. Commercially Diminazene aceturate form is common. Acetutate is useful in peptidomimetics to produce unnatural and unusual amino acids and to modify peptides. Diminazene aceturate is a yellow to orange powder; melting point 212 C.
