http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/
There are two stages in the treatment for tuberculosis. In the first two months treatment is aimed at killing as many bacteria as possible. Therefore several anti-TB drugs with different mechanisms of action are used at the same time (usually rifampicin, pyrazinamide, isoniazid and ethambutol). After this time some of the medicines are stopped and the others (usually rifampicin and isoniazid) are continued for a further four months to kill any remaining bacteria. Cycloserine is only used in second stage of treatment and when the bacteria are resisant to the other medicines.
