GENERAL DESCRIPTION & APPLICATIONS

Dithizone, diphenylthiocarbazone, is used as a chelating agent for the extraction and separation of heavy metals. It is used as a titrant in the quantitative determination of heavy metals and flame atomic absorption spectroscopic determination of metals including cobalt, copper, lead, mercury, Cd, and zinc. It is used in medicals as an indicator.
