APPLICATIONS |
||
Wright's stain is the combination of acid dye (red 'eosin') and a basic dye (blue 'methylene blue') for use of staining the blood smear. It highlights the differences among the different types of leukocytes (immune cells) for easier recognition of eosinophils or basophils during the counting process. There are various related staining products of Wright's stain which are combinations of eosin, azure, and methylene blue in pH adjusted solution. Examples are Wright-Giemsa stain, Gram's stain, and Jenner's stain. | ||
