APPLICATIONS

Glyoxal, difunctional low mole  weight aldehyde, is a highly reactive intermediate used for the preparation of copolymers, dyes, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, corrosion inhibitors and photographic chemicals. It is used as a dispersant water soluble polymers, starches, cellulosic materials, proteins (casein, gelatin and animal glue), and polyhydroxyl groups. It is used in soil and cement stabilizing. It is also used to improve moisture resistance in paper, leather and glue. It is used in embalming fluids, for leather tanning, and for rayon shrink-proofing. It is used as a sulfide scavenger.
